Sensual Bachata Basic Workshop - Quad Cities

Whether you have never danced before or are an experienced social dancer looking to branch out into this unique style, you’ll enjoy this class focused on basic Sensual Bachata technique, musicality, and connection. No partner required to attend.

This Sensual Bachata class will begin with a full body warmup, breakdown of the Bachata basic step for beginners if necessary, and a warm-up song focused on footwork. You will then learn a combination of footwork to be danced without partners (known as a “shine” or “pasitos”). Next we will move onto learning a combination to be danced with a partner, with a focus on proper technique, clear communication for leaders and interpretation of cues for followers, respectful connection, and musicality. If time allows at the end of class, the floor will be open for you to practice what you have learned in a social dance setting, and you will also have the opportunity to ask the instructors questions. We intentionally keep our class sizes limited so students are able to benefit from individualized attention and practice with instructors, helping you improve your skills with even greater speed.
